Meet Trudy Bullard

Trudy Bullard
Therapeutic nutrition specialist III
HBA chapter: Dallas - Fort Worth
Current role with the HBA:  HBA Southwest region deputy chair

I volunteer for the united force for change because women have to use their voices to speak out for change as it relates to diversity, inclusion and gender parity, so that generations to come will be impacted.

Volunteering has impacted my career by expanding my internal and external networks in the healthcare industry.

My favorite HBA event I ever attended was the 2017 Annual Conference. I loved the theme: Transforming with GRIT and the last speaker, Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, was a female pilot. Her story was so inspiring.

Volunteering has expanded my network by allowing me to meet, network and interface directly with healthcare executives from various companies.

My employer encourages me to volunteer for HBA because it gives me exposure to upper leadership management and helps drive our ERG-Women Leaders at Abbott.

I applied for my current role with the HBA because I want to help HBA chapters grow and make a global impact for gender parity, diversity and inclusion.

Anything else you would like to share? You can always find me on the dance floor. I love to dance. While there really isn’t much dancing at HBA events, Sewa Beats at last year’s Annual Conference got me close. That was one of my favorite group activities. See you on the wood!

Follow me as I take over the HBA social media accounts on 8 April.
