As a response to the Philadelphia Business Journal article written by chapter presidents Amy Turnquist (HBA Philadelphia) and Anita Burrell (HBA West Chester) “Time's up for Gender Inequality in New Jersey. But What About Philadelphia?" Amy represented the HBA on both the local NBC news channel and WHYY radio station.
Amy is interviewed by Erin Coleman of NBC 10 alongside lawyer Lori Armstrong Halber and she shared the support that the HBA offers in terms of mentoring and education with a direct reference to the HBA West Chester event on 22 May. This event will present tools that empower women to negotiate more effectively, when applying for roles and promotions.
During the radio interview with WHYY (at 3:23 mins in the podcast), Amy defined the situation relating to the legal situation for gender pay equity legislation in NJ and PA, and offered alternative solutions that the HBA can provide to promote and advance women in their careers. With the awareness that Amy has raised in the Philadelphia area, she clearly shows why HBA is a United Force for Change.
