HBA Kansas City board member Alex Kauffman, a contract training nurse specialist at Teva, was honored in December as a LEAD award winner. This prestigious award is given in recognition of Alex’s leadership and strong commitment to the continued success of the women in healthcare in KC and our chapter.
The Leadership, Excellence and Dedication (LEAD) award is the highest honor an HBA volunteer can be given within their chapter. It honors a chapter volunteer who has made a significant contribution during the current calendar year and demonstrated dedication to the HBA mission of furthering the advancement and impact of women in healthcare.
As an events committee volunteer, Alex seamlessly plans all of the chapter's events and has been instrumental in the success of HBA Kansas City since the beginning. Event planning can be labor-intensive and stressful but Alex excels in the role. She is extremely organized and her positive attitude is contagious. Other committee members noted, “Alex is always positive and figures out a way, even when things change.”
