Dr. Andrews Recognized by HBA Pacific Region for Leading High-Growth Chapter
HBA Orange County is pleased to announce its president, Shawn Andrews, Ed.D., has received two distinguishing honors from the HBA Pacific Region for her 2020 contributions:
Marie Curie Award: This award is bestowed upon an HBA volunteer who has led an innovation that has had a significant impact on the chapter or region.
Legacy Award: This award honors an HBA volunteer who has achieved a significant “above-and-beyond” accomplishment.
Under Dr. Andrews’ leadership, HBA Orange County membership has grown 33percent. Despite a year of social distancing, HBA Orange County maintained a frequent cadence of online networking and educational opportunities with solid attendance from healthcare business leaders at every level across the greater Orange County area and beyond.
Most notably, Dr. Andrews led a powerful, three-part book club discussion on her female-empowerment book, The Power of Perception: Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, and the Gender Divide.
Dr. Andrews — supported by an active chapter team — has made a tremendous impact in 2020 and plans to continue bringing valuable programs to HBA Orange County members and prospective members in 2021.
