2021 is well underway and while COVID-19 challenges continue to influence how we operate personally and professionally, the HBA Pacific region is so proud of how our network of influencers continues to grow and impact our mission. Combined with the increasing availability of vaccines that are the remarkable result of our scientific community and the diverse talent of healthcare business leaders, we are positioned to navigate success in so many new ways.
We’ve kicked off the year strong. Here are a few highlights from our key functional areas:
Welcome to our newest corporate partners Kite Pharma, Opiant Pharmaceuticals and Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals all in Los Angeles. Your addition to the HBA and the HBA Pacific region makes us even stronger. Thank you to our HBA Pacific region-based sponsors Accenture, AbbVie, Adaptive Biotechnologies, Bayer, Deloitte, InTouch Group, Genentech, Mannkind Corporation and W20 for supporting the Insights & Trends from the 2021 J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference.
The marketing and communications team is actively supporting many activities and advertising events throughout the region. The team is looking for a director, social media. If you are interested in learning more about the role or have a candidate to recommend, please contact our marketing president Deepa Dahal.
Registration for the mentorship program shows that our commitment to professional development cannot be stopped by a global pandemic. At the end of January, 65 mentees and 32 mentors registered for this outstanding six-month program beginning in April and concluding in October. The February J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference Insights & Trends was highly attended and plans for International Women’s Day events in March are progressing. Keep monitoring social media and the HBA website for event details!

We have a lot happening throughout the HBA Pacific region and within each of the chapters focused on our organization’s purpose to further the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare. On a personal level, it is also very gratifying to see and hear stories of how we support each other during challenging times in addition to the more familiar circumstances. Thanks for all that you do to strengthen us as an organization through your membership, volunteerism and leadership.
